More wig dye!

So, you know how I got free Playfish Cash? Weeell, I logged on to the game today to find out that even though I’d spent it, by some glitch, I still had my cash! =D So I went and spent it on a Redhead Wig, then dyed it Golden Blonde. What do you think?

Wig Dyes

Yes, it’s me! I’m posting again! =D

So, you’ve seen the new wig dyes, right? Right. I recently completed an offer to get 8 Playfish Cash for free, so I decided to spend it on wig dyes! I’ve got pictures of Star here wearing all 4 dyed wigs – which is your favourite?

Lion Petlings

Yesterday, the latest items were released in Pet Society. One of those was a lion petling! Star bought one straightaway. His name is Sir Roarsalot!

Star with all her petlings

Star’s first petling was Starlight, the white cat with her eyes closed. Next, she bought Shimmer, the blue cat. Star’s third and final cat, white with golden eyes (Edward Cullen petling, anyone?) is named Topaz after her eyes. Then she coyote petling came out – Star’s is called Sandy, after her fur colour. And of course, there’s the new addition to the family – Star’s lion petling, Sir Roarsalot. He’s not fully grown yet, but I’ll keep you updated!

Pet Society Gets A Makeover

Yes, it’s been a long, long time since I updated =P I’ve decided to actually try to update a bit more often.

So! Pet Society’s had a total makeover. Let’s see what the official blog has to say about it.

The Pet Society official blog says: “The first thing you will notice is that the game screen is now wider! This is obviously fantastic, as you can see more of your beloved pet, friends’ pets, homes, shops, etc!”
I say: I’m pretty happy about this, it’s one of my favourite changes. However, I have heard of a glitch: if you put the game into full screen mode, then put it back to normal, the right side of the screen disappears. This isn’t good at all, because bang goes the option to save your game! I’m not sure if this has been fixed yet.

The Pet Society official blog says: “As an added bonus, secret rooms such as the Secret Garden and Tree House Room are now a little larger!”
I say: This is good for the people who’ve actually payed real money for the “secret” rooms, but seeing as I haven’t, it doesn’t bother me too much.

The Pet Society official blog says: “Shortly afterwards you should notice a new look and layout, with cool new icons, and a new town map with the shops!”
I say: I quite like this new layout. I do miss the shortcuts to the shops, but at least it only takes a couple of button clicks to get to the shops, instead of us having to walk all around the town. The new icons are cool too. The only thing I don’t like about the new look is that some of the fonts have been replaced – they don’t seem to fit in with the game and are harder to read.

The Pet Society official blog says: “You may notice that there are no trees to bump on the town map, but never fear, Friend Street is here! You can find Friend Street in the lower left corner of the town map, where you can visit friends and bump trees to your heart’s content!”
I say: I honestly don’t care about this. At all. Did anyone ever actually manually walk around the town to get to friend’s houses? I just use the friends bar. I’m just not bothered about this part of the update.

The Pet Society official blog says: “If instead you use the Friends Bar to visit your friends, you will notice that there are changes there too! The Active and Visits tabs have been removed! You can still tell who you have visited each day though, as the original pink or blue background will change to a neutral colour after you visit. And there is really no need for an Active tab anymore, so we fed it to the hungry fish in the Pond, as you now receive the same coins no matter who you visit (35 coins for your first 50 visits each day, 20 coins for the next 25, and 15 coins thereafter).”
I say: I’m quite happy about this new set-up. It looks nice and well set out. Also, we now get more coins for visiting friends! Yippee!

The Pet Society official blog says: “By now, you may be wondering where your happiness and hygiene bars are, well due to mysterious circumstances, which Sirius basically thinks “?” is responsible for, they no longer exist! What does this mean for you? Well, happiness no longer affects your game in any way, so feel free to brush your pet, but don’t be surprised when nothing much happens! Hygiene however is still in effect, you can tell how dirty your pet is, and how dirty the pets you visit are, by the number of flies on them, the dirtiest pets will have 5 flies. You can earn 20 coins and 1 paw point per fly cleaned when washing a pet up to a maximum of 80 coins and 4 paw points.”
I say: This is my least favourite change, I’m really unhappy about this. I loved making my friends’ pets happy and clean again, and earning plenty of coins and paw points while I was at it! But now… only 4 paw points! How are we supposed to level up?! Also, I don’t like all the flies. Having 2 at maximum was fine, but up to 5 just looks horrible.

The Pet Society official blog says: “When you are watching your paw points add for washing those flies away, don’t be too surprised if they appear lower than normal, as the display for these has been changed! It may be a little confusing at first, but each level the paw points number goes back to zero and counts up to the amount needed to reach the next level. For example, if you were a Level 43 pet with 337,300 paw points previously, your pet will now show as a Level 43 pet with 5,300 paw points towards the next level (as 332,000 paw points were those required to reach Level 43).”
I say: Not especially happy about this either. Now, we can’t even see our points or compete with our friends! It would help if we are actually TOLD how many paw points we need to get to the next level.

The Pet Society official blog says: “You will find that the Stickers, Cooking and Tutorial icons have been removed from the main game screen, and placed in the snazzy new Books tab.”
I say: I quite like this, now we don’t have tons of icons cluttering up the bottom of the game screen! =D

The Pet Society official blog says: “The shiny new red camera icon you see there is particularly special, as you can now take a snap shot of your pet in your room!”
I say: Hooray! I, and so many fellow pets, have wanted for quite a while now to have our pets featured in our room snapshots. Now, not only do they appear, but we can choose whether we want our pets to appear in the picture or not!

The Pet Society official blog says: “The Chest and Wardrobe now have various categories to help you find what you need!”
I say: This is extremely helpful if you have a lot of items or are giving one of your rooms a makeover. Love it!

So, what do you think of this drastic makeover? Leave me a comment!

More Petlings!

Yep, that’s right! Since Starlight grew up, Star decided to buy another kitten. Her name is Shimmer!

Star and her two Petlings: Starlight is the white one and Shimmer is the blue one ^.^

I know a lot of people hate the blue colour, but I quite like it. It’s quirky and unique. =D

How many Petlings do you have?

Introducing Petlings!

I was originally going to blog about decorating, but this is an EMERGENCY. *red warning lights flash and sirens can be heard* There is a NEW FEATURE in Pet Society! Yes, I know it came out yesterday. I was too busy to blog. =P

So, I’d like to introduce you to Petlings. Here’s a description from the official Playfish blog:

“Have you ever wanted your pet to have its own pet to keep it company? Yes, well you’ll be ecstatic to hear that you can now purchase a Petling for your pet! Baby Petlings are available to purchase in the Garden Store, for now you can choose either an adorable Kitten or Puppy (the minimum level requirement for a Cat is level 5, and the minimum level requirement for a Dog is level 10) to take home for your pet to care for. What type of Cat or Dog you will grow (i.e. colour and breed) is random!

Here are a few things you need to know about Petlings! You will need to name your Petling, so start thinking of the perfect name! Plus, all pets require care, so each day your Petling will ask for a food that it wants, feed it that food to keep it happy. Your Petling infant takes 3 feedings (one per day) to grow into a fully grown Petling, and you can only have one Petling growing at any one time; once your Petling is fully grown, you can purchase and grow another if you like. Ensure you feed your Petling when it asks for food, if you don’t feed a Petling for 3 days it will get very sad and run away. If your Petling/s run away, you be able to find it/them by either posting a feed to your Facebook wall, and having a friend help your find it/them, or by paying some coins to retrieve your Petling/s.”

That pretty much explains everything. Of course, you want to meet my Petling, amirite? Well, meet my kitten, Starlight!

Star with her Petling, Starlight

I’ll keep you updated on her!

Meet Star!

Hi, I’m Melanie ^.^ Welcome to my blog! A little about me; I’m 12 years old, I live in England and I’m obsessed with the colour purple (see pet’s colour and eyes). I’ve been playing Pet Society for a while now – I’m on level 30, a Heroic Pet – but I’ve only just decided to start this blog. Of course, I’m not the Star here (HAHAHA spot the pun) – that would be my pet, Star. Which is why I called the blog Starring: Pet Society! (HAHAHA, spot the pun again.)

Star's latest outfit

In this blog, I’ll be writing about anything and everything in Pet Society, as often as possible. Hopefully. xD

I have to say, the inspiration for this blog came from Pet Society Anonymous, a funny, well-written blog that I highly recommend reading, especially if you’re a Pet Society addict like me.

Well, that’s all for now. Stay tuned for more endless rambling riveting and exciting blogginess! Bye! ^.^
